Ballerina Girl
OVERVIEW
The Ballerina Girl is inspired by the contrast between a ballerina’s outward grace and delicacy and their inner strength. While they appear elegant and effortless, they are athletes who push their bodies to the limit, balancing fragility with incredible discipline. In this piece, the ballerina is crying, reflecting the physical and emotional toll of the extreme discipline she endures.
For this drawing, I worked with charcoal and used erasers to create highlights and textures. The paper was propped on an easel, allowing me to work comfortably and capture the figure with more control and precision.
