Paradise Totes and Scrunchies
OVERVIEW
The Paradise Totes and Scrunchies set was inspired by my aunt and uncle because they lived in Hawai’i, and I wanted to give a gift to both on Christmas. The totes are spacious enough for everyday use, with added interior pockets for organization, while the scrunchies bring a playful detail that ties the set together. Making these as a pair showed how fabric choices can connect different items into one collection.
FABRIC AND TECHNIQUE
For this piece, I used colorful floral fabric in bold pink and purple shades, paired with neutral straps to balance the design. Each tote was sewn with a roomy interior, strong handles, and pockets inside to keep small items easy to find. Smaller fabric pieces were turned into scrunchies to reduce waste and make something useful out of the leftovers. The process included measuring, cutting, and sewing multiple sets. The end result is a coordinated collection that feels both fun and practical.
