In this piece, the quilted squares feature patterned fabric, with scissors represented by O, a measuring tape as G, a bobbin as L, and E as a sewing machine. The background includes famous buildings such as the Empire State Building, the Plaza, and One World Trade Center. I went through a process of trial and error, creating three drafts before arriving at the final design. This process taught me the value of experimentation and refinement, and I enjoyed using markers, rulers, and pens to explore composition, detail, and color.
